From shelter-in-place orders and non-essential businesses closing their doors to a nearly complete ban on both commercial and private jet travel, it’s been an unprecedented time in many ways. 

However, as doors slowly begin to open and those once-grounded jets start departing again, there are new rules and regulations in place to help keep people safe.

What are private jets doing to improve safety now? 

At Stratos, we’ve added additional steps to our current health and safety policies to ensure every private jet charter we book meets the highest standards in the industry. 

Masks

We require that all crewmembers greet passengers while wearing a mask. We do this to protect both the passengers and the crew. One of the most common ways of transmitting the virus is by coughing or sneezing. By wearing masks, we can prevent the likelihood of transmission by nearly 95 percent. As regulations and recommendations evolve, so will our safety measures.

Cleaning the aircraft

We also require that each aircraft is sanitized and disinfected prior to passengers stepping onboard. Particular attention is paid to items that are at a high risk of being touched, such as: 

  • Galley surfaces
  • Ledges of drawers
  • Interior surfaces around doors
  • Boarding door and surrounding area
  • Tables
  • Seats
  • Seatbelts & buckles
  • All lavatory surfaces
