{"id":61653,"date":"2017-01-18T22:03:33","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T22:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stratosjets.com\/?p=61653"},"modified":"2023-11-23T10:27:57","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T10:27:57","slug":"glossarypreferred-vendors-air-carrier-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stratosjets.com\/glossary\/preferred-vendors-air-carrier-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Preferred Vendors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At Stratos, we believe that safety is a derivative of a company&#8217;s culture.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #323338; font-family: Roboto, Arial;\">Through Joel Thomas&#8217;s industry leadership and involvement, Stratos has been able to identify and develop close relationships with leading air carriers whose upper-level management consistently demonstrate and display support for safety initiatives.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #323338; font-family: Roboto, Arial;\">We seek out air carriers who make significant financial investments in taking a proactive approach to safety through the implementation of regular safety training and assessments as well as the implementation of a robust SMS Program.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #323338; font-family: Roboto, Arial;\">To ensure our approved vendors are still compliant, we regularly interact and monitor their sales and operations staff to ensure that they exhibit a dedication to safety and professionalism.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Safety in the Skies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In order to be considered a preferred vendor, a vendor must qualify by meeting different criteria. Some of these reasons usually include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adherence to third party safety programs requiring an on-site auditor<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of a robust SMS program through ACSF or ISBAO certification<\/li>\n<li>Pilot-in-commands with a minimum of 1,500 hours flying time, with no less than 3,000 hours total<\/li>\n<li>Second-in-commands must have at least 1,000 hours of flying time, with no less than 500 hours as captain<\/li>\n<li>A safety culture that extends from our offices into the offices and minds of the air carriers we work with<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of $25 million insurance for turbo-prop and $50 million for all other aircraft<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>First Class Luxuries<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Typically, jet charter brokers will also require their preferred vendors to provide high quality amenities during their flights. Because they do not own any of the aircraft, the vendors play a large role in building a great relationship with the broker\u2019s clientele.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Determining Charter Plane Prices<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When utilizing the services of a jet charter broker, clients often have additional needs to be accommodated.
