A carbon credit is a certificate or permit used by global industries to control greenhouse gas emissions. In private aviation, companies like Stratos Jet Charters have started\u00a0eco-jet charter programs<\/a> to help clients offset their carbon footprint. It allows them to contribute to carbon reduction initiatives in a meaningful way, without significantly increasing the cost of private jet travel.<\/p>\n

Making a Difference<\/h2>\n

In addition to placing a cap on\u00a0the total annual emissions allowed, global trading partners use carbon credits to fund\u00a0carbon reduction initiatives all around the world. For instance, Stratos Jets partners with a company called TerraPass. They offer opportunities for individuals and businesses to purchase carbon offsets. When a Stratos Jets client requests an eco-jet charter flight, they agree to a slight increase in their cost of private jet travel. TerraPass\u00a0then uses that surplus\u00a0to fund a range of innovative projects, including:<\/p>\n
