They are part of the system, typically found in the cockpit of a commercial airplane and private aircraft charters, which handles all flight functions. Some of these high-tech functions include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Control<\/li>\n<li>Navigation<\/li>\n<li>Communication<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring<\/li>\n<li>Weather<\/li>\n<li>Anti-collision systems<\/li>\n<li>Black boxes (data recorders)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Power in the sky<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The avionics on most modern aircraft, including private aircraft charters, use high voltage AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current) to operate. This power is needed for essential components such as instruments, radios, and pumps, but also to operate such things as the flush toilets and convection ovens used to heat food on commercial flights.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Modern avionics <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Federation Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently modernizing the avionics component of its member aircraft carriers, including private aircraft charters, in the U.S. This is contained within the NextGen Air Transportation System, as part of the FAA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stratosjets.com\/glossary\/national-airspace-systems\/\">National Airspace System<\/a>.
